Keegan Davis

Keegan Davis is an architecture studio based in Byron Bay, working across residential, commercial and adaptive-reuse projects for clients throughout Australia and New Zealand. Our practice is rooted in restraint — quiet materials, considered proportion and a patient attention to place, light and the way a building is used.

We work with private clients, developers and operators on homes, interiors, workplace and hospitality, and a small line of furniture and objects produced under the studio's own name.

Services

What we do.

  1. Residential architecture

New houses, additions and full renovations. We work with private clients on long-term homes where the brief is as much about how a family lives as it is about form.

  2. Commercial & hospitality

Workplaces, showrooms, restaurants and retail interiors for clients who want a space with the same care and material restraint as a private home.

  3. Adaptive reuse & heritage

Sensitive interventions in existing buildings — cottages, warehouses and period homes — where the work is to listen first and add only what is needed.

  4. Interiors & objects

Full interior design for our architectural projects, and a small, growing line of furniture and objects produced under the studio's own name.

How we work

How a project unfolds.

  1. I.

    Discover

A conversation about site, brief and how you want to live or work in the space. We gather constraints — planning, budget, programme — and establish what the project is really about.

  2. II.

    Design

Concept, developed design and documentation. We work in close, unhurried collaboration with you, refining material, light and proportion until the building feels resolved.

  3. III.

    Deliver

Tender, construction and handover. We remain involved through every phase — protecting the design intent and resolving the inevitable questions that only emerge on site.

Common questions

Before we talk.

Where is the studio based and where do you work?

The studio is based in Byron Bay and works with clients across Australia and New Zealand — from coastal homes on the east coast to commercial and hospitality projects in Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne. Travel is built into how we run a project.

What size of project do you take on?

From single-room interiors to multi-residential and mid-scale commercial work. We deliberately keep the studio small so that every project has direct involvement from Keegan.

How long does a typical project take?

A new home is usually 18–30 months from first meeting to handover. Interiors and smaller adaptive-reuse projects move faster — often 6–12 months. We'll give you a clear programme after the first call.

How do fees work?

Fees are quoted per project after the discovery call, based on scope and complexity rather than a flat percentage. There is no charge for the first 15-minute conversation.

What is the first step?

A 15-minute discovery call — book a time below. We'll listen to the project, answer questions, and follow up with next steps if it feels like a fit on both sides.
