Studio

Refined architectural spaces that express local natural materiality, supporting identity, daily routines, and enduring relationships with the environment.

Keegan Davis

Practice

Keegan Davis is an architecture studio working between Australia and New Zealand, taking on a deliberately limited workload of residential, commercial, and object commissions. The aim across the work is the same: a quiet, materially honest architecture that supports the way people actually use and inhabit a building.

Keegan trained in fine arts at Southern Cross University before completing his architecture degree at Victoria University of Wellington. He began practising with Knight Associates in 2020, working across high-profile residential projects, luxury retail fit-outs, and adaptive reuse commercial developments — including a series of projects for Les Mills.

He then joined a specialised team at ProDesigners Architects, working closely with Fletcher Living on multiple medium-density housing developments across Auckland, strengthening his documentation, coordination, and on-site skills.

The studio in its current form followed a flagship bakery fit-out for Daily Bread in Britomart's boutique retail precinct. Recent and ongoing work includes a tasting room and bar in Hamilton, a private residence in Bali, and a new-build residence in Northern NSW.

Approach

The work centres on natural materials, simple construction, and the patient pursuit of buildings that age well. Each project begins with the place — its light, its prevailing weather, its particular sense of ground — and proceeds outward from there.
